This weekly one hour session (every Thursday) will allow children of age groups 4-16 to interact and learn more about the philosophy behind Shirdi Sai Baba through stories, shlokas, art activities, chants and discussions. Experienced volunteers will form the faculty for Sai Vidya Peeth.

HIGHLIGHTS OF SAI VIDYA PEETH

• The parents need not be Sai Samsthan’s member to register their children in Sai Vidya Peeth.

• Enrolment is FREE for all eligible students of grades Kindergarten to 10th grade.

• Sai Vidya Peeth is a one hour class per week. Classes will be held on Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

• 100% commitment from the teachers/volunteers.

• In case of emergencies for teachers, a back-up will be arranged.

• The committee will actively search for back-up teachers. Those interested can contact any committee member.

• At the Sai Vidya Peeth, children will be taught simple Bhajans, Shlokas, and Stories from Sai Satcharita, Ramayan and Bhagawat.

• To engage children in the class, certain art activities pertaining to the Sai teachings will also be arranged.

• The students will be divided into two age groups: Group I: 4-8 years and Group II: 9-16 years.

• The format of the classes tentatively have been decided as follows:
o Introduction (10mts): Chanting Omkara, Vinayaka shlokam, Guru shlokam, introduction to the class and fellow students etc. (as one group)
o Then students will be divided into two groups and rotated among the following:
o Slokams: 15mts
o Bhajans: 15mts
o Stories: 15mts
o Conclusion: 5 mts (as one group)

• The first class will be conducted as one group instead of separating into two groups.

• After the first class two groups are formed per the age limit.

• The classroom will have a Picture of Baba on a table. In future, some additional pictures from stories will be placed in the class room.

• Further curriculum discussions/additions will be based on the enrollment, success of the proposed structure and Baba's blessings.

• Students are encouraged to bring a "token" Dakshina for their initiation into Sai Vidya Peeth and place at lotus feet of Baba at the start of every class.
